# About

I'm Richard Osborne. I'm the main developer of NodeGX, and I build apps with Claude for a living. I wrote this guide so you can do it too.

## Me

I came to software the long way round: spreadsheets, then no-code tools, then building with AI. That's why this guide assumes nothing and explains the words as it goes.

I build apps for clients, and I teach founders and teams to build and look after their own. Everything in this guide comes from real projects. When something stops working for me, the guide changes.

## NodeGX

NodeGX is a free, open-source visual app builder. It is made by the Low Code Foundation, a French non-profit, and it grew out of Noodl, which closed in 2024.

I work on NodeGX because of what it gives you when Claude builds your app. You get an app you can open, read and change yourself, not a pile of code that only Claude understands. [What NodeGX does for you](https://learn.nodegx.io/what-is-nodegx) explains how.

This guide started as a general guide to building apps with Claude, written with the Low Code Foundation and Visual Hive, where I was CTO. This version is rewritten for building with Claude and NodeGX. I wrote it with Claude, using the method it describes.
